Is it true that a girl was named "Chat Yipiti" in Cereté? The Registry reviewed and clarified everything.

A few days ago, a news story circulated on social media that went viral in a matter of hours. Parents in Cereté, Córdoba, allegedly registered a newborn baby under the name 'Chat Yipiti,' a reference to the OpenAI chatbot.
The story sparked controversy and caught the attention of internet users, as many disagreed with what the minor's parents did, citing the possibility that she could become a victim of bullying.
However, on Tuesday, August 19, the National Civil Registry denied the news through its X account (formerly Twitter).
"After consulting the databases produced and managed by the National Registry, to date there is no birth registration under the name 'Chat Yipiti,' " the statement said.

The organization emphasized that this information is untrue and that, to date, no one under that name has been registered in Colombia.
"Furthermore, since some notaries can register births, the records of the Sole Notary Office of Cereté, Córdoba , were reviewed, without finding any registration with that particular name," he concludes.
The impact of the news was such that the National Civil Registry had to issue a statement denying the false claims.
